...a gathering of women and NBs to generate magic and supportive community through an exploration of digital making and creative computing.
I'm passionate about building tools that empower people.
Currently, I do so in the security space; prior to this, I architected data visualization platforms as a means to reform the justice system and designed social robots to assist children on the autism spectrum.
In my current incarnation at Elevate Security, I get to combine my academic background in psychology with my love of coding to facilitate security behavior change through gamification and experiential learning. My most recent project at Elevate was as the primary front end architect of our platform for security administrators.
Enthusiastic about diversifying the next wave of software engineers and building inclusive tech communities, I offer my experience and advice on nontraditional paths into tech, overcoming imposter syndrome, and job search strategies as a panel speaker.
I am also an active member of many communities for people underrepresented in tech, a /dev/color affiliate, proud graduate of the Grace Hopper coding bootcamp/ feminist utopia, and event organizer for Girl Develop It SF.
I am passionate about paying it forward, and often dedicate my time to mentoring techies of color one-on-one through job searches. I am also an instructor at Girl Develop It SF, where I teach introductory programming classes on HTML/CSS, git, command line interfaces, algorithms, React.js, and more to help women and non-binary folks achieve their technical goals.
While in undergrad at Yale, I was a teaching assistant for CS50, leading deep dives into lecture material during weekly 90 minute sections, and providing guidance, feedback, and grades to 16 students on their weekly problem sets, quizzes, and meaty final projects.
